Essential parts of your deck - ledger, footing and piers installed with the deck
When you install or restore the decks in your house, one end of the joists in the deck is provided support through the ledger that is bolted. The ledger frame is normally bolted to the housing of the deck. The ledger is normally of the same size and is made of the same materials as that of the joists in the deck.
On completion of construction the deck are ordinarily leveled a couple of inches below the interior floor level so as to keep away the rain water and dirt. A little elevation is always maintained in installation and renovation of deck so that water can be drenched while cleaning the deck and its accessories with deck cleaners.
Other important parts of your deck are the size and depth of footings and the piers. These footings remain hidden from the view and they are ordinarily placed on some firm rocks. Piers are placed on the footings. Finally there are setting posts as well as the beams. Your entire deck structure is dependent on these sub-structures. Cleaning and removal of wood stains depend largely on the structure of the deck.
At the time of installation of the deck, ledger supports an end and a row of beam supports the other end of the joist. Once the framing is done, the decking is put in place. They are ordinarily nailed as perpendicular to the joists. However, the nails may cause disfiguration or discoloring as well as holes. You can use sealers and coats and cleaners to clean the decks and its other related components.
